Second session begins

After a half-hour break, congress has re-convened.

Ron Oswald, IUF general secretary, is discussing standing orders, the agenda and is now talking about the IUF policy regarding sexual harassment.

Paul Andela read a list of trade unionists who recently passed away and delegates stood for a moment of silence.

He is now reviewing the names of individuals for the various congress committees.

The general secretary is reviewing proposed amendments to congress rules.

Several individual delegates have requested the right to speak about changes to the rules. A spirited discussion followed, mostly focussed on proposals to increase the representation of women in the IUF.

The proposed rules changes were approved by a very large majority.
