Coca-Cola Indonesia exploits COVID-19 lock-down to impose secret collective agreement, undercutting the rights and benefits of 6,000 workers

As Indonesia moved into lock-down in late March, Coca-Cola management secretly signed a new national collective agreement with the pro-management national union structure created decades ago during the Suharto military dictatorship to suppress workers' rights. This agreement effectively imposes new terms and conditions on more than 6,000 Coca-Cola workers without any of them being able to obtain a copy of the actual agreement and read it.

Nicaragua: Agreement on salary increase at Coca-Cola FEMSA

Following negotiations that started in February, and despite the economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, National Beverages Industry Union (SUT-INARSA) secured an increase in wages.

The increased wages take effect from April 1 and cover 744 workers.

Pakistan: Coca-Cola Union signs new agreement and scores important wins

Following eight months of continuous negotiation with Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan, the IUF-affiliated Coca-Cola Beverages Workers Union(CCWU) has signed a national collective bargaining agreement(CBA) for 2017 and 2018. The agreement covers a substantial increase in wages, annual increments for both years and an establishment of Coca-Cola retail outlets that can be run as small family businesses by workers who have lost their jobs during recent restructuring. The IUF-affiliated German union NGG has been facing extensive restructuring with the closure of many Coca-Cola sites nationwide but even so more drinks are produced each year leading to an increase of productivity by employees of 13.5% from 2015 to 2016.
