Ireland: Under serious intimidation anonymous SIPTU members show solidarity to the "Zero Rights" campaign by hiding themselves

The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) had earlier closed its directly owned, strongly unionized concentrate plant (where the "secret formula" syrup is manufactured) in Drogheda and recently it announced the closure of the last remaining unionized plant in Athy. Despite union membership growing beyond 50% of the union's potential members in the remaining concentrate plant in Ballina plant the Company simply refuses to recognize the union.

SIPTU calls on senior management at Coca-Cola to reverse decision to close Athy plant

SIPTU representatives have called on senior management at Coca-Cola to reconsider its decision to close its facility in Athy, County Kildare, with the loss of all jobs, which was announced earlier this month. The company said it had taken the decision following a review of its concentrate manufacturing, with production being transferred to its facility in Ballina, County Mayo.

SIPTU members have accepted proposals from mediator, Mr. Gerry Durcan
SC, which bring the nine week dispute at Coca Cola HBC to a conclusion.
