2000 protest planned Coca-Cola plant closures in Germany

Feb. 14, 2009, workers, the local community, and politicians protested jointly in order to save the Coca-Cola production plant in Kaiserslauntern, Germany. 

"We were expecting  about 1000 people, but nobody figured there would be 2000 people turning out in solidarity with the Coca-Cola workers in Kaiserslautern, said Holger Winkow, regional representative of IUF affiliate NGG representing the workers at the protest meeting.

German Coca-Cola employee reps against casual work

February 11. The General Works Council of the German Coca-Cola Bottler CCEAG, which is owned by The Coca-Cola Company, discussed casual work, and in particular the Charter of demands of the Global Coca-Cola Workers Alliance at its meeting February 11. Delegates, representing about 12.000 employees of CCEAG in Germany, adopted the Charter of demands unanimously and expressed their explicit support for the document.

New union formed at Coca-Cola Hellenic Subsidiary "Multon" in St. Petersburg

More than 100 workers from different departments of ZAO "Multon", one the subsidiaries of Coca-Cola Hellenic in Russia, have united into a union. The new union local joined the St. Petersburg regional organisation of the Agro-Industrial Workers Union of Russia (AIWU).

Karachi union incorporates "Charter of demands" into negotations

The Staff and Workers Union at Coca Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL), Karachi submitted a charter of demands to management on  January, 2, 2009.

Among other demands, it includes the following four points which reflect and specify positions of the Global charter of demands against casualisation, as appropriate for the situation at the Karachi plant:
