El día 7 de octubre, un equipo de representantes de sindicatos de Coca-Cola presididos por el Secretario General de la UITA, Ron Oswald, se reunió con el Director Internacional de Coca-Cola para los Derechos en el Lugar de Trabajo, Ed Potter, y su equipo en Atlanta, con el propósito de discutir las relaciones laborales mundiales en Coca-Cola, casos específicos de países donde se habían notificado abusos y --en particular-- la cuestión del empleo precario.

Precarious Work, Workplace rights issues discussed by IUF Team and Coca-Cola Global Management

October 7, a team of Coca-Cola union representatives led by IUF General Secretary Ron Oswald met Coca-Cola Director Global Workplace Rights Ed Potter and his team in Atlanta to discuss global labour relations at Coca-Cola, specific cases from countries were abuses were reported, and, in particular, the issue of precarious employment.

Upcoming “Atlanta meeting” to discuss precarious employment in the Coca-Cola system.

The regular biannual meeting between union representatives and Coca-Cola top HR management will take place Oct. 6/7 in Atlanta.
The Union delegation will consist of representatives of trade unions with memberships in key Coca-Cola markets, IUF General secretary and beverage sector coordinator, and IUF regional officials from Asia/Pacific and Europe.
The Agenda includes updates on various topics discussed earlier, in particular, on discussions around an international union rights and recognition agreement (see the agenda of the meeting). One of the major topics, however, will be a discussion on employment, precarious work and outsourcing.

Precarious employment at Coke: Tell us about your country!

During the last months, we have been collecting information on precarious employment in the Coca-Cola system from those affiliates that has been indication a problem with the issue.
However, as research goes on, we are aware that problems exist in other countries as well. We are thus continuing to explore the situation. Affiliates in the Coca-Cola Alliance can report about their situation directly to [email protected], or fill in the attached survey and send it to the same address.
