Argentina: As management refuses negotiations on reinstatement at Polar, a national strike looms in the beverage industry

For more than a week after the surprise announcement  of 145 layoffs at Coca-Cola bottler Polar SA  in its plant of Neuquen, in southern Argentina, the entire enterprise system is paralyzed.

September 6, Polar SA, the Coca-Cola bottlers and distributor in parts of Argentina, has abruptly fired 145 workers.

FATAGA, the IUF affiliate organising Coca-Cola workers in Argentina, has started to mobilise workers against this outrageous move of the company, and threatened to stop Coca-Cola's business not only in the affected plant in Neuquen, but all of Argentina. 

Panama: New collective agreement limits casualisation

In a difficult situation for Panama in general, the union of Coca-Cola workers, SITRAFCOREBGASCELIS, has been able to sign a new collective agreement making important progress.

Coca-Cola Nicaragua: New Collective Agreement

SUT - INARSA, the trade union at Coca-cola FEMSA in Nicaragua, has achieved important economic progress and employment stability, signing a new CBA with the company.The agreement contains also important regulations on trade union recognition and dispute resolutions through a bipartite commission.

The agreement was signed after two weeks of intense negotiations.
