Argentina: Coca-Cola bottler Polar abruptly fires 145 employees. FATAGA fights back

September 6, Polar SA, the Coca-Cola bottlers and distributor in parts of Argentina, has abruptly fired 145 workers.

FATAGA, the IUF affiliate organising Coca-Cola workers in Argentina, has started to mobilise workers against this outrageous move of the company, and threatened to stop Coca-Cola's business not only in the affected plant in Neuquen, but all of Argentina. 

Panama: New collective agreement limits casualisation

In a difficult situation for Panama in general, the union of Coca-Cola workers, SITRAFCOREBGASCELIS, has been able to sign a new collective agreement making important progress.

Coca-Cola Nicaragua: New Collective Agreement

SUT - INARSA, the trade union at Coca-cola FEMSA in Nicaragua, has achieved important economic progress and employment stability, signing a new CBA with the company.The agreement contains also important regulations on trade union recognition and dispute resolutions through a bipartite commission.

The agreement was signed after two weeks of intense negotiations.

New Collective Agreement signed at Coca-Cola Uraba, Colombia

    As reported by the IUF Latin American office, a new Collective Agreement has been signed by our Colombian affiliate SICO at Coca-Cola in Uraba, Colombia, providing for economic achievements well above the local average.

FELATRAC plans 2010 activities

February 9 FELATRAC, the Latin American Coca-Cola Workers Federation, held an ad-hoc meeting regarding the situation at Montevideo Refreshments, which will be also subject to a detailed report for the next meeting between unions and the company in Atlanta.
