Alliance of Coca-Cola Unions Philippines (ACCUP) rolls back casualization, wins 741 new permanent jobs in 2012

In a meeting between Coca-Cola Philippines Bottlers Inc. (CCBPI) management and the IUF-affiliated Alliance of Coca-Cola Unions Philippines (ACCUP) on 14 June, the company committed to 741 new permanent jobs in 2012.

New union formed at Coca-Cola plant in south India

In February 2011 a union was organized for the first time at the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Kalahasti, Andra Pradesh, in the south of India. The plant opened in 2003 as a franchise bottler and was taken over by TCCC 4 years later.

Unions in southern India unite, launch joint organizing efforts

Organizing efforts over the past 12 months culminated in a meeting of South India Coca-Cola unions co-organized with IUF on 28 May.

The meeting brought together 13 unions from 7 bottling plants in Andra Pradesh and Kartnataka, including 3 contract workers’ unions.

An agreement negotiated between the IUF, the Atlanta, USA-based The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI, Coca-Cola's Turkey-based bottler for the Middle East, Pakistan and Central Asia), has successfully resolved a long and bitter conflict over employment and trade union rights at Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan (CCBPL). CCBPL is jointly owned by TCCC and CCI.
