Coca-Cola workers in Saskatoon end 60+ days of strike

The Strike of RWDSU Local 588 at Coca-Cola in Saskatoon is over. On Friday, August 7, 2009 the members voted 85% in favor of the company's last offer, thus accepting the new collective agreement.
"Each side comes out of this thing with some flexibility they achieved during the dispute, so I wouldn't go around saying there is a big winner or loser here. It's just a long labour dispute that went on for eight weeks and both sides achieved, part and parcel, some of the issues that were outstanding," commented Garry Burkart, spokesperson for the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). "In terms of Coca-Cola bottling negotiations right across Canada, this is the best settlement negotiated in Canada this year," he said.

A number of other Canadian locals organising Coca-Cola workers had supported the strike, and Kevin Le Blanc, head of Canadian Soft Drinks Workers Council had visited the picket line. Below are some of his pictures.
