Philippines: Another strike against redundancies and transfers planned

In May over 250 drivers and delivery workers went on strike at the Santa Rosa plant in Laguna. They were protesting against their forced transfer from Coca-Cola Philippines to a 100% owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola Philipines, TRCI Red Systems.

Now workers are being transferred back from TRCI Red Systems to Coca-Cola Philippines, while half will be made redundant. But anyone going back to Coca-Cola must apply for their jobs as fresh recruits with no seniority. This wipes out all their seniority and experience. Another strike is planned to denounce this jobs destruction.
