IUFUniting Food, Farm and Hotel Workers World-Wide Settlement in Long-running InBev Montenegro Dispute

In July last year, the IUF filed a submission with the OECD's National Contact Point (NCP) in Belgium, home base to the transnational brewer InBev. The IUF took action at the OECD in response to a series of bitter trade union rights disputes at the company's brewery in Trebjesa, Montenegro, which began almost immediately after InBev acquired the facility in 1997.
Thanks to a series of direct constructive negotiations between the IUF and InBev held under the auspices of the NCP, a negotiated solution to the issues has been achieved, and the OECD complaint formally withdrawn with the mutual agreement of the IUF and the company.
