Workers at Foster's Yatala halted work on October 5 for four hours between 11am and 3pm and travelled to rally at the Australian brewer's marketing headquarters in Fortitude Valley, near Brisbane. This was the first of a possible series of work stoppages a majority of Yatala workers voted for after eight months of refusal by Foster's management to negotiate a union collective agreement. Hundreds of LHMU, AMWU and ETU members and supporters gathered, marched and chanted demanding Foster's respect the Yatala workers' right to a union CBA.
Australian unions are campaigning around the country, and the IUF is coordinating an international solidarity campaign. You can show your support by clicking here to send a message to Foster's corporate and plant management.
