Union activists from the Philippines Alliance of Progressive Labor (APL) and members of the IUF-affiliated hotel union NUWHRAIN went into action in three cities in the Philippines on March 17 in support of the campaign by the T&G section of the UK Unite for equal treatment for agency workers supplying meat to Marks & Spencer.

At Marks & Spencer stores in Makati, Mandaluyong and Cebu the union activists picketed, spoke with workers and customers, passed out leaflets on the issues and displayed posters and banners before being stopped by security personnnel.

More actions are planned this week at M&S locations around the world.

To support the campaign, you can send a message to M&S corporate management by clicking here. Copies will be automatically sent to the T&G and to the IUF secretariat.
