Just two weeks after the victory in Coca-Cola Multan, workers at Coca-Cola Pakistan's Faislabad plant had cause to celebrate yet again today, as their union was officially registered.

An agreement negotiated between the IUF, the Atlanta, USA-based The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) and Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI, Coca-Cola's Turkey-based bottler for the Middle East, Pakistan and Central Asia), has successfully resolved a long and bitter conflict over employment and trade union rights at Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan (CCBPL). CCBPL is jointly owned by TCCC and CCI.

IUF affiliate Ceylon Mercantile Industrial and General Workers’ Union (CMU) at the beginning of the year has signed a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Ltd.

The agreement focuses on the maintenance of fair labour practices. 

It was signed for a two year period effective from January, 2010 – December 31, 2011.

On 23 April, over 250 workers participated in the first general assembly of the newly formed Coca-Cola Pakistan Beverages Ltd (CCBPL) Gujranwala Workers' Union.

Tony Farman is shop steward of NNN, the Norwegian Food workers union, representing workers at the Coca Cola Oslo plant in Norway. He is one of many workers of Pakistani origin at the plant. The Staff and Workers Union at Coca Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCBPL), Karachi submitted a charter of demands to management on  January, 2, 2009.
