Solidarity for the sacked Coca-Cola Morocco workers

Ben Malouk Hassan, a technician who had worked for 17 years in the Coca-Cola Marrakesh bottling plant is unfairly dismissed on 2 August 2012 because of his union activities. Another worker Jalouli Mohamed, a fork-lift truck driver with 17 years of good service at Coca-Cola Casablanca bottling plant was involved in an unintentional accident when he was following the instructions of his supervisors. The local management claimed that communicating the facts of the accident to international organizations was grounds for dismissal.

Three Coca-Cola plants set to merge in Kenya

TCCC revealed that three of Coca Cola's bottling franchises in Kenya plan to merge in a bid to improve on their production capacity and enable them launch new packages convenient for market. Under the proposed plan which shareholders of the three firms are said to have approved; Kisii, Mount Kenya and Rift Valley Bottlers are set to merge to form a new company that will be called Almasi Beverages Limited.

Coca-Cola and PepsiCo Unions in Africa to enhance collaboration against precarious work

Coca-Cola and PepsiCo union representatives from Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Benin, Niger, Nigeria, Zambia, Togo, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Morocco met December 8-9 in Accra, Ghana after the Regional Conference to discuss their present situation of organising in both TNCs and exchange experiences, successes and future plans of trade union work in these giant beverage companies operating in Africa.

Tunisia: strike success in Coca-Cola Mégrine

Workers at the Coca-Cola factory in Mégrine, Tunisia, went on strike for two half days July 26 and 27 and won important improvements in the area of health and safety, as well as in remuneration. 

Morocco: 41 workers at Casablanca plant regularised

The UMT union local at the plant in Casablanca, Morocco, reports that 41 workers have been regularised in the last 3 months as a result of a fierce union campaign.
