Workers protest at New York McDonald’s
November 29th, 2012 by ron

November 29 saw workers at a Manhattan McDonald’s go on strike asking for higher pay and the right to form a union. Other workers joined the protest during the day.

New York Communities for Change, a community group, that has organized the protests says fourteen striking workers joined the protest. At least three more protests were planned during the rest of the day at different locations in the city, including crowded locations like Penn Station and Times Square.

Workers from other fast food chains (Burger King and Yum Brand , KFC and Taco Bell) were expected to join the McDonald’s workers.

Workers are seeking a pay raise to $15 an hour and the right to form a union. Currently wages for up to 50,000 fast food workers in New York City average out at $9 an hour. That’s annually about $4,500 lower than Census Bureau’s poverty income threshold level of $23,000 for a family of four.

    Attention Mc D operators..
Are we not human to pay poor fellow worker below the po.verty benchmark? Is it holy thing to suck blood of those who need to fend for their family? Are we driven by satan for surplus profiteering while fellow workers are dying and difficult making ends meet?
Dear all…remember…wealth is not everything. Caring and love are magic power which can change the world around us. You maybe lying on good bed now but in no time the death angel will put you on last breadth. That is when you need someone whom you love, to comfort you till the end..
Please share your wealth and pay handsomely to those who deserve it. They make profit for you and its your obligation to care their welfare.
