On 20 March 2012, the Nestlé Korea Labour Union (NKLU) officers and delegates meeting issued a statement urging Nestlé Indonesia and Pakistan to stop putting pressure on the workers. The statement says that an attack against one Nestlé worker is an attack on all Nestlé workers around the world. NKLU furthermore urged Nestlé to reinstate all fired SBNIP members immediately, enter into negotiations and drop all charges against the Kabirwala contract workers and negotiate with the union concerning the employment status of these workers.

All meeting participants chanted in front of the Cheongju Nestlé factory’s main building: “Stop Nespressure!”, “Win reinstatement and sincere negotiations!” and sang a song of struggle for winning Nestlé workers’ fights for justice. NKLU declared that it would monitor the developments and show its solidarity on May Day to the other workers and the public in case that Nespressure continues.
