The 4th World Conference of the IUF Agricultural Workers Trade Group (AWTG) met in Seville, Spain, from 11-13 December 2006. Among the works of the conference, the delegates passed a resolution on IUF Global Sugar Program, submitted by the Guyana Agricultural & General Workers Union (GAWU).

On 20 November 2006 the sugar unions of Guyana and the UK, and the IUF sugar coordinator met in London.
