The Sugar Plantation Agricultural Workers Union of Malawi (SPAWUM) finalised wage negotiations with Illovo Sugar (Malawi) on 20 March, with an increment of 27 percent across the board and a live out allowance of 15 percent. Inflation rate is quoted at 21.2 percent.
