Zambia: NUPAAW Concludes Negotiations at Zambia Sugar

On 30 June, the National Union of Plantation Agricultural and Allied Workers of Zambia (NUPAAW) concluded negotiations at Zambia Sugar, an Illovo Sugar subsidiary, covering about 6,500 workers, some 1,900 as permanent employees and the balance as seasonal workers at peak times.

Malawi: SPAWUM signs wage agreement with Illovo Sugar (Malawi)

The Sugar Plantation Agricultural Workers Union of Malawi (SPAWUM) finalised wage negotiations with Illovo Sugar (Malawi) on 20 March, with an increment of 27 percent across the board and a live out allowance of 15 percent. Inflation rate is quoted at 21.2 percent.

Belize: BWU Reach Wage Agreement with BSIL
