IUF affiliate Tekgida-Is protested the dismissal of 28 workers by the Swiss based food and beverage giant, Nestle, outside the Swiss Consulate in Istanbul on October 22.

Nestle Foods dismissed the workers on July 1 this year, after they voiced opposition to the outcome of collective bargaining and after some workers chose to resign from their existing union and join Tekgida-Is.

TekGida-Is President Mustafa Turkel called on Nestle Foods to immediately reinstate the ousted 28 workers and respect their rights of freedom of association and freedom to express their views on workplace conditions.

The IUF has called on Nestle corporate to exercise their influence and reinstate the workers to their former jobs.
