May Day Philippines: support for Citra Mina workers makes it the biggest ever march in General Santos

Over two thousand people went out on the streets of General Santos of May 1st to support the demands for the human rights for Citra Mina workers. Led by the trade union center SENTRO, demonstrators demanded improvements in the working and living conditions of the tuna workers. 
Supporting the new Worker Safe initiative, demonstrators proclaimed that workers’ rights were essential for a sustainable fishing industry, sustainability was not just about the protection of dolphins and fish resources, but also about ensuring decent working conditions, about job safety and security.
