The Cadbury Pakistan Progressive Employees Union, affiliated to the IUF through the Pakistan Food Workers Federation (PFWF), is celebrating another 51 permanent jobs for long-time casual workers employed at Mondelez Pakistan. Twelve workers at Mondelez' Tang factory and 39 workers at Mondelez' confectionery factory in Pakistan now have permanent jobs. This became possible due to the union's continuous struggle to tackle precarious work at Mondelez Pakistan. The union demanded permanent jobs when management proposed to start a 3rd shift operation.

One Mondelez worker named Faisal Ali, who is the sole provider for his family, expressed gratitude towards his union saying that he had been working as a casual worker at the Tang plant for 9 years. He added that it is only because of the union that he now has a permanent job and he is more enthusiastic to put effort into his work for the progress of the company.

The union is grateful to PFWF and IUF affiliates around the world for their continuous support and solidarity.
