Colombia: AB InBev workers denounce dismissals misrepresented as mutually agreed departures

The IUF-affiliated Union of Workers in the Beer, Beverage, Food, Malt and Similar Industries (USTIAM), has condensed the unfair practices of the Bavaria company, a subsidiary of the beer giant AB InBev.

"It is inconceivable that our employer, taking advantage of the emotional difficulty that we as workers are going through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ignores the guidelines of the national government and the Ministry of Labor and dismisses workers whilst misrepresenting these departures as ones happening in "agreement". The forced dismissals are devastating for the families of these workers", says the union statement.
