PepsiCo: record compensation for CEO, abuses for Indian warehouse workers

The pay differential between the CEO and a low-paid worker at PepsiCo is now 14,055:1. CEO Indra Nooyi’s total compensation for 2013 came to USD 18.6 million – a 7% jump over the previous year’s package. A worker at PepsiCo’s warehouses in West Bengal, India would need 14,055 years to earn what the top boss made – providing they renounced their human rights and managed to keep the job. In 2013, workers at three warehouses organized a union, submitted their demands and were brutally fired.

Pepsi outsources warehouses in Canada leaving dozens jobless

Pepsi Shutting Down Production Operations at Dayton Facility

While the PepsiCo building on Milburn Avenue will not close, beverage products will no longer be produced at the site anymore. The company says 200 employees will remain but approximately 30 employees will be affected by the announcement.The company stated that it is committed to providing support to affected employees by offering outplacement services.

Pepsi To Lay Off About 50 People In Fresno

PepsiCo has confirmed rumors that layoffs are coming to the refurbishing facility in Fresno, California.

PepsiCo will close its refurbishing center at its Fresno beverages facility in the next several months. All associated work will move to a company facility in Las Vegas. While 50 employees will be dismissed, about 350 employees will still hold positions at the Fresno facility. PepsiCo has stated that the company is committed to providing support to affected employees.

US: Peltz ends call for Mondelez merger, eyes PepsiCo split

Nelson Peltz, the US billionaire and activist investor, will halt his campaign to merge PepsiCo with Mondelez International after the Cadbury chocolate producer lined him up for a seat on its board. The move should come as a relief to PepsiCo's management, which had been forced to counter Peltz's backing of a PepsiCo buyout of US-based Mondelez. PepsiCo warehouse, logistics and sales workers organise in Russia

In June 2013, PepsiCo Russia workers from warehouse, logistics and sales center in Domodedovo (Moscow region) decided to unite and create a union to defend their rights and fight for fair conditions. The union joined the IUF-affiliated NOVOPROF and represents sales agents, merchandisers, truck drivers and forklift truck drivers.
