It was clear from the launch that the housekeeper campaign would have outsourcing as one of its targets. It is a common experience for outsourced workers to be treated worse than those directly employed.

Working conditions are poorer and wages are lower due to the pressure hotel managers exert on those companies, which in increase the pressure on workers.This is common to all hotel categories including luxury hotels, who, like the more downmarket operations, also deny responsibility for these practices.
