Owners Theo Müller Group announced on February 21, 2024, that the plants will be closed. Hundreds of workers will be laid off. The decision was taken without any negotiation with IUF affiliate NGG, the Works Council, or the workers. The Müller Group took over from Friesland Campina only in April 2023.

The IUF supports our affiliate NGG, which calls on the Theo Müller Group to:

  • Stop the closure of the Landliebe dairy plants in Heilbronn and Schefflenz
  • Negotiate with the union to ensure job security for the workforce

NGG representative Tim Lubecki stated, “The sudden announcement to close the main plant in Heilbronn and the plant in Schefflenz is a slap in the face for the employees. We increasingly suspect that the Müller Group has only bought the Landliebe brand in order to get rid of the competition and strengthen its own market position.”
