Belgian Unions tell Mondelez : SOTUBI Tunisia management not welcome in our plants !

On March 6, the union committee at the Mondelez biscuit factory in Herentals learned of the imminent visit of a delegation of production and technical managers from the Mondelez/SOTUBI joint venture in Tunisia.

The union committee immediately informed factory management that "the delegation is not welcome in the factory as long as Mondelez continues to violate trade union rights in Tunisia and refuses to recognize and talk to the IUF".

The news of the visit spread and the unions at all Mondelez sites in Belgium conveyed the same message to their respective management.

As a result, the visit was cancelled but the unions in Herentals, Mechelen, Namur and Halle remain vigilant in case a delegation should return unannounced.
