The Finnish PAM has joined the IUF's Global Week of Action with activities aimed to raise guests' awareness about housekeepers' working conditions. From November 4 to 11, union officials and shop stewards visited 15 hotels in the Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa areas, including a one-day action at Helsinki airport. Guests, most of whom have never thought about housekeepers' workloads, learned how difficult and strenuous the work is.

The campaign has been enthusiastically welcomed by members and housekeepers. PAM's next objective is to make progress in bargaining improved working conditions and to increase cooperation with Finnish health and safety authorities.
