On July 16, 2019, Nestlé workers from all over Russia gathered and held a demonstration outside Nestlé Russia’s Perm Headquarters in support of the dismissed sales force employees.

Nestlé announced in January its intention to close its Timisoara coffee and confectionery factory in western Romania, which currently employs some 388 workers, by the end of May.

On 13 March workers at the Nestlé-owned Osem group in Israel, who are unionised in the Histadrut, started demonstrations on the backdrop of the company’s intentions to carry out significant structural changes which will impact workers’ terms and conditions and lead to mass dismissal.

Froneri, Nestlé's ice cream joint venture, announced in October its intention to close yet another former Nestlé site, the factory and research centre in Beauvais, France. The unions represented at the factory have reached a settlement for the 317 workers which will provide a decent foundation for their future.

Nestlé workers from across Europe attending the Nestlé European Works Council on 27 November 2018 expressed solidarity with workers in France where Nestlé plans to close Purina and Froneri sites.

Trade union representatives from 19 unions in 16 countries across the globe met in Geneva on September 27 and 28 to build union strength to defend rights and protect employment at Nestlé.

Following the announcement in mid-June of factory closures, job cuts and payroll cost "improvements", the German food workers union, NGG, had some harsh words for Nestlé: "Reckless greed is behind this…. Everything is secondary to the absurd target of 18.5% profit returns prescribed by the CEO."
